Hi, I'm Kari Weber, the artist and designer behind Kari Renee Designs.
Inspired by nostalgia, antique treasures, and the stories held within everyday objects, I create surface pattern designs that bring warmth, meaning, and a sense of timeless beauty to fabric, stationery, and home goods.
For nearly two decades, I've worked in libraries, building a career around collecting, organizing, and connecting people with stories. Today, as a Collection Development Librarian, I select adult fiction for a county library system, curating collections that serve readers across eight library branches. Long before that, however, I studied studio art and was quietly drawn to pattern, texture, and design.
While my creative path didn't unfold the way I originally imagined, I've come to realize that the threads connecting my work have always been there. I'm endlessly inspired by the objects we choose to keep—the worn book, the handwritten note tucked between pages, the quilt passed through generations, and the treasures waiting to be discovered in antique shops. These pieces of history remind me that beauty often lives in the things that endure.
My artwork combines hand-drawn and hand-traced motifs with painterly elements, drawing inspiration from nature, vintage ephemera, found objects, and meaningful moments of everyday life. Through collections such as Beautiful Dawn, Field at Dusk, and Quiet Delight, I strive to create designs that feel familiar, comforting, and emotionally resonant.
I create with fabric, quilting, stationery, and home goods in mind, believing that pattern has the unique ability to become part of our daily rituals and cherished memories. My goal is to design artwork that feels timeless—pieces that not only catch the eye but also tell a story and evoke a sense of connection.
Thank you for visiting. I'm honored to share my work with you and look forward to opportunities to bring thoughtful, story-driven design to products that inspire creativity, comfort, and joy.
After discovering surface pattern design in 2025, I've embraced the journey of learning, creating, and building a portfolio one collection at a time.
